Rhodium Steel Plant

Rhodium Steel Ltd wished to move its operations to a custom designed and built plant for manufacturing of its products. The brief calls for a 6,000sqm wire products and MIG Wire manufacturing plant. A yard and garage for parking and servicing of trailers and 6No. Godowns each at 816sqm are also included within the 4 acre site.

We utilised BIM (Building Information Modelling) from concept design. This allowed us to significantly reduce earth work costs (by 90%) by testing various iterations within the BIM Model. It also allowed us to get more accurate cost estimates as we could obtain material quantities right from concept design. This means we have a more elemental cost estimates versus the traditional square metre rates used at the concept stage. The reduced earthworks also significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the project.
